Senior Pastor
Ryan Maxson

Ryan grew up being discipled in a Baptist church in rural, Ontario.  As a teen he was engaged in a vibrant youth ministry which God used greatly in developing a maturity in Christ with strong desire to be on mission for Jesus both locally and globally.  Ryan completed his bachelors degree (BRE) at Tyndale University College & Seminary in Toronto, while serving as a youth pastor in a small baptist church. During this time he was blessed to marry his high school sweetheart Hannah.

After a move back to Uxbridge Ryan helped re-start an old family business and built up a small successful masonry company with his father. For a decade or so Ryan worked as a licensed stone mason, while continuing in various capacities of church leadership. Ryan enjoyed leading missions trips, taking teaching opportunities and occasionally preaching.

In June 2019 Ryan left his career as a Stone Mason to pursue a masters degree at Dallas Theological Seminary, after sensing a call to pastoral ministry. In February 2020 Ryan accepted the call of Senior Pastor here at Riverside Baptist Church and started the end of March 2020, just as the world began to shut-down in response to COVID.

Ryan enjoys finding creative ways for the church to press on in the mission and worship of Jesus Christ, compelled by Matthew 28:19-20 despite our external circumstances. Ryan & Hannah have three children and very much enjoy parenting and spending time with them.
